Woke up dis moarnin, got my clase on. Telt mam dat I wis gain ta fitch some mair paets. She tocht a o da cerring yisterday wid o laid me by but na na. I den geed oot ya da baarn an got da Kishie. I geed outside an stood for a minute lookin oot at a dae hooses in da village. Den I headed ower ta da hill tae fitch da paets.

Win I got back tae da hoose I fun Mam half lain in da chair, fice drawn. But before I cood say enyting she wis up biggen da paets up arood ta gloowin embers o da fire. She den telt me ta go an pit da rest o da paets inta da paet neuk. As I did dat I saw her walken ower ta da meal-kist. She said she was goin ta make some broonies befor da ither 2 got up. Mam telt me ta go an maet da kye I asked her if I cood gee a grain mair ta ald Flecky. It’s so sad, shes gitten weaker an weaker by da day. Mam agreed but I wis only alood ta gee her a peeerie bit mair or weed run oot.

Win I got ta da byre I geed stret ta Flecky. I geed her a pat but I tink she wis mair intested in ta food in me hand.I had ta move on quickly fur da ithers were gitten jealous. Sholma wis even peeken inta Fleckys maet. After her I geed ta young Blacky Fleckys calf. Wha fur da first time is in calf herself. Blacky wid of iten me hand if I had letten she wis so hungry.

Efter I had fed dem a I headed up tat a hill burn ta git some water fur da kye. I did dat a few times but when I came back fur da last time I heard somebody shoutin at me. It wis Henry, he telt me dat mam wanted me an tae hurry. I ran doon ta da hoose as fast as I cood. Win I got inta da hoose I fun mam standen motionless ower her baken. She telt me ta ging an fitch ald maalie but as I wis headen fur da door she stopped me an said I shood hay something ta ite first. I wisna gan tae disagree we mam at dis moment so abayed her wishes. I set me sel doon an mam gave me a cup o tae an a broonie. I gulped me tae and we me broonie in me hand I rushed oot da door. In da distans I cood heer mam shoutin t aging up ahint Tislafeild fur Lizzie Tammason is da biggest gossip doos ever met. I eventually made it ta Mallies door. Thankfully Lizzie didna see me. I waited a second ta figure oot wit I wis gan ta say first. Win I wis ready I pulled th rope nockeer. I had to duck as always to get in the door but nearly banged my head. Der wis a smell comen oot o her hoose o paets an cats. Whin I got in ta da hoose I could see ald Mallie hunched on a stool ower by her fire. I geed forward a bit den felt something rub against me leg. Luckily it wis jist Mallies cat. Whin I wis jist aboot ta spik she got in afore me. She even got why I wis dar in a oner. She den sed how she brought us inta da wirld. I asked her if she wis comen she sed dat I shood geng an she’de be in a start. So I did as I wis telt. Ageen I ran as fast as I coold dodging everything in my path. I hed ta slow doon because I coold see Lizzie Tammason up a heed.I walked ower but she started ta spik ta me. Every time I finished spiken I edged a wye a bit mar. Eventually I got awye. Den I met Peter he telt me dat Mam wis i da bed an Henry hed geen ta Hamrigert ta Aunty Willa.

I entered da ben end an mam started ta spik. I cood hardly hear her. I telt her dat ald Mallie wid be in a start. Mam sed ta me tae ging ta Kurkigert ta git granny.

So I geed. I always love goin ta Kurkigert whiin I’m der I’m da centre o attention. Ald Daa always tells me different, intrestin an fun stories. A da sheep lifted der heeds as I ran past, it wis kinda funny. As I ran I pasted a whole load of people I waved ta dem aa. As I got ta North Moostoft I met ald Rasmie Peterson, he most be well owre seventy noo. He telt me it wis comin a richt moorie so ta be careful, an he wis richt. Wee wit Rasmie hed sed in me heed I heeded aff ageen.

Whin I eventually med it ta da tap o da hill I looked doon on Weisdale as I always do. I quickly headed aff ageen dodging the miry holes an jumping owre clumps o heather. I started ta see da Kurkigert hill dykes but at da sam time a gust o wind brocht doon a fall of snowflakes all around me. The moorie cam on heavy in no time. The worst ting wis I wis still a good half hour fay me destatnaion. So I turned up me collar. I cent if I kept da wind a on me left cheek I wid be gain I da right direction. I started to think of poor Jonny in the 1835 moorie. I just hoped I wouldn’t be like him. I started to get colder. The one thing that kept me goin was the thought of nearly seein Ald Daa and granny. At one point I lost my footing an fell tae da snow. But I wis lucky I managed ta git ta me feet. Dat wis whin I noticed the wind wis ahint me instead o on me left, I paniced. I got mesel so dat da wind wis on me left an geed ageen. As I got closer to daas I started to see how weak I was. Whin I tried ta git up I always fun mesel lyin on da waa ageen. I kin mind fanting infront o da door but not much ider fur dat day. Da only ider ting dat I can breffly mind o dat day is Daa an granny always asken if I wis fellin ony better.

But Da next moarnin me an Daa set aff hem the snow wis still pretty deep so it took wis a peerie while.Whin we eventually med it hem my legs were so tired. I wis limping because I hurt me leg I da snaw. We geed inside ta da warmth o da fire.

I asked Aunty Willa if In cood ging an see mam, she telt me I cood but I hed ta tak aff o me first. Whin I geed in ta see mam she wis lien in da bodem box-bed. I telt her dat granny coodna com cause o da snaw but wid come win it cleared. It wis some experience yesterday but I hope I never have ta go through it ageen. Night.
